The new Glamox i65 industrial luminaire, designed to meet the needs of a new generation of mega-warehouses and industrial halls, has won the prestigious German Design Award 2026 in the category of ‘Excellent Product Design – Lighting’. Receiving the award for Glamox were Joachim Øwre Israelsbakk, Product Manager for Industrial and Outdoor Lighting, and Sabrina Dittmann, Regional Marketing Manager – Central Europe. The design award was presented at a glamorous awards ceremony at the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany, on 6 February 2026.

The German Design Council holds one of the most prestigious awards in the international design calendar. Every year, it honours outstanding work in product design, communication design, and architecture.

The judges panel remarked, “Powerful and clear, “i65” sets standards in terms of lighting quality, modularity and sustainability. With its striking design, the system impresses with its versatile mounting options and intelligent control possibilities. Its aesthetic restraint, combined with robust materials and outstanding performance, makes this project a pioneering solution for sophisticated lighting concepts. Particularly in the highest award category, it impressively combines design and technical excellence.”

New family of high-bay lights

Glamox i65 is a family of powerful new smart LED high-bay luminaires. With 180 lumens per watt and a light output of up to 70,000 lumens, i65 meets the highest requirements for energy efficiency and uniform brightness. Its body is made from 45% recycled aluminium, and the entire fixture is designed to support a circular economy.

The product range was developed for mounting heights of up to 20 m with IP65 and IK10 protection ratings and C4 corrosion resistance. It is ideal for warehouses, distribution centres, production facilities, and sports halls. It can be controlled by the Glamox Wireless Radio lighting control system, ensuring maximum control, energy savings, centralised maintenance, and emergency monitoring.

The i65 and other award-winning lights will be on Glamox’s stand (Hall 3, Stand E40) at the Light + Building international trade show in Frankfurt, 8-13 March 2026.
