KNIPEX has announced its new products and innovations for summer 2026 – ranging from a mounting tool kit for solar PV jobs, to a multi-tool, to focusing on heavy-duty power cables.

Handling heavy cable with ease: The new KNIPEX STX60

Working with large-diameter power cables brings its own challenges, particularly when it comes to clean, controlled cuts. The new KNIPEX STX60 is designed to handle the tough stuff with control and precision.

Designed for cables between 30 and 60mm in diameter and insulation thicknesses of up to 6.5mm, the STX60 is the tool to reach for when you need precise control. It deals easily with materials like PVC, rubber and PUR, including heavy-duty rubber-sheathed cables like H07RN-F so is ideal for industrial installations, renewable energy projects such as wind and solar, shipbuilding and mobile power supply.

This tool has a quick-adjust mechanism so users can modify to the required cable diameter with a simple thumb press for clean, controlled cuts without damaging the inner conductors. For more precise work, a fine adjustment dial enables accurate settings anywhere within the 30–60mm range.

Guide rollers support both circumferential and longitudinal cutting, keeping the tool steady and leaving a consistent finish along the cable. For longitudinal cuts, users can choose between manual operation with a fold-out pulling aid or a mechanical ratchet function (ratchet not included). The ratchet option is particularly useful when working with tougher materials, reducing effort over longer periods. Its die-cast aluminium housing is designed to withstand regular use on-site and two spare blades are stored in the rotary knob so can be replaced quickly and easily.

With its combination of controlled cutting, easy adjustment and robust construction, the STX60 is a practical solution for professionals working with heavy-duty power cables.

Three jobs, one tool: The new KNIPEX PreciForce® SAC

On PV installations, switching between tools soon slows things down. KNIPEX has introduced the PreciForce® SAC (97 52 42 6) which puts cutting, stripping and crimping in one tool to keep jobs moving on site.

Designed for MC4® and MC4® Evo 2 connectors, the PreciForce® SAC is aimed at installers working across PV installation, maintenance and repair. With all three functions in one place, there’s less stopping to swap tools and less chance of mistakes, especially on larger jobs.

The lever transmission gives you high crimping force with minimal effort so you can achieve a consistent finish time after time. There’s also an integrated release lock (IEC 60352) which means the crimp won’t complete until the correct pressure has been applied.

Crimping pressure is factory-set and locked-in and the fixed die keeps everything stable, so performance stays consistent when working with MC4® systems. The tool is compact, lightweight and comfortable so it’s easy to handle, even over longer periods or when working in tighter spaces. The PreciForce® SAC can also be used with the KNIPEX Set of Mounting Tools (97 49 66 3), giving installers a complete setup for PV work.

For PV installers, the PreciForce® SAC is a straightforward way to cut down on tools and keep work moving.

Stay organised on solar PV jobs: The KNIPEX set of mounting tools

Small tools are all too easy to misplace or double up on when you’re busy on site. Keeping everything together makes a real difference, which is where the KNIPEX Installation Tool Kit (97 49 66 3) for MC4® and MC4® Evo 2 connectors comes in.

The kit is a 2-in1 solution for tightening the housing screw connections and unlocking MC4® and MC4® Evo 2 plug type connectors. It includes two compact wrenches made from glass-fibre-reinforced plastic with integrated magnets that hold the tools together so they stay secure for storage but can be quickly separated when needed. This setup helps reduce the number of tools needed on site, keeps everything organised and makes for a more efficient installation process.

The assembly tools are tough but lightweight and easy to handle and having both in one place means less time wasted looking for tools. Used alongside the KNIPEX PreciForce® SAC, the kit forms part of a practical setup for PV installers working with MC4® systems, covering both preparation and connection tasks.

The Set of Mounting Tools (97 49 66 3) is a neat little kit that means less tools to carry and keeps everything where it should be.

Tight spaces? No problem! The new KNIPEX Slim Knips

Precise cutting of wire or cable ties can be a challenge in tight spaces, but the new compact KNIPEX Slim Knips (78 03/61 150 V01) are designed to make those cramped and awkward jobs easier.

The Slim Knips pliers have a slender, asymmetrical design that makes it easier to guide them accurately into deep or awkward spaces so they are ideal if you need to get into cabinets, trim panels and electronic assemblies.

A micro-offset cutting edge gives clean, controlled cuts while the precisely shaped tips cut both solid and fine-stranded copper conductors and even the thinnest of wires. An integrated lock keeps the cutting edges closed, keeping it safe during transport and saving space while being stored. It also acts as a stop when working with cable ties so they can be tightened without being unintentionally cut. These pliers also have a wide opening range so it’s easy to trim or remove cable ties flush with the surface.

The Slim Knips can be paired with an optional holster (78 09 LE) available individually or as a set, keeping the tool within easy reach. As the holster is also compatible with other models in the Electronic Super Knips®  range, you can organise your tool setup quickly and easily.

For electricians and technicians working in tight or awkward spaces, the Slim Knips offer a practical way to improve access and maintain control, helping ensure clean, accurate results across a wide range of applications.
